ANNOUNCING SEASON SIX, OUR 2018-19 CLASSES, CAMPS & SHOWS

BEAUTY & THE BEAST | Youth Company – Fall 2019

Step into the enchanted world of Broadway’s modern classic, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, an international sensation that played a remarkable 13-year run on Broadway and has been produced in 37 countries worldwide. Based on the Academy Award-winning animated feature, the stage version includes all of the wonderful songs written by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman, along with new songs by Mr. Menken and Tim Rice. The original Broadway production ran for over thirteen years and was nominated for nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical.

The classic story tells of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed into his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.

This show is thrilling, exciting, funny and romantic. It has incredible character for boys and girls to play – like Lumiere, Cogsworth, Gaston, the Silly Girls, Belle, and Maurice.  Unforgettable musical numbers like “Be Our Guest,” “Beauty & the Beast” and “Home.”

Some roles may be double-cast, which would mean some students would have both a ‘lead role’ track and an ensemble track.  Stay tuned for specific information about which performances will include your child’s lead role track if applicable.

PREREQUISITE & CASTING INFO:  No audition is necessary.  We do “try-on”-style casting, with an assessment of acting, singing & dancing skills on the first day.  We assign roles to our students based on their goals and our assessment of how best to challenge them and continue to develop their skills.  One of our philosophical pillars is “ensemble” – we try to give every child as much stage time as possible, and make strong use of students in secondary or chorus roles throughout the show.

CLASS SIZE:  Youth Company enrollment is limited to 32 students. This class almost always fills, so enroll early to ensure your place.  In our larger programs, some or all roles are double-cast; however, usually all students perform in all of the shows. We do reserve the right to change the number of performances based on the final enrollment and casting.

TUITION:  $489 (full pay) or $514 (3-pay option).

—-FULL PAY:  You may pay your tuition in full, and save $25, for a total of $489.
