ST. ROBERT BELLARMINE SCHOOL: SPRING 2019 – THE WIZARD OF OZ

PROGRAM OVERVIEW: Students will learn beginning & intermediate-level skills in acting, vocal production and movement. Actors prepare a fully-produced, ensemble-driven adaptation of Wizard of Oz with costumes, props, lighting, and scenic elements. Rehearsals right at your school!  St Robert Bellarmine tech week and shows occur in our theatre in Jefferson Park. This program is non-auditioned; everyone is welcome!

BEGINS: February 5, 2019

MEETS: Tuesdays, 3:00-5:00pm at St. Robert Bellarmine

TECH/DRESS REHEARSALS: Held at Windy City Performs @ 4766 N Milwaukee Ave

Tuesday, April 30, 3:00 pm-6:30pm
Tuesday, May 7, 3:00pm- 6:30pm
Thursday, May 9, 3:00-6:30pm***

PERFORMANCES: Fully produced, ticketed shows in our theatre.  Based on enrollment numbers, we may either (1) Flip leads only; or (2) Completely double-cast the show, with two separate groups performing independently.

FLIPPED LEADS, ONE CAST TWO SEPARATE CASTS

4 SHOWS:

Saturday, May 11 @ 12pm, 2pm, 4pm & 6pm
(This is the most likely scenario)

6 SHOWS:

Cast A:  Thursday, May 9 @ 5:30pm & 7:30pm and Saturday, May 11 @ 12noon
Cast B:  Saturday, May 11 @ 2:30pm, 4:30pm & 6:30pm

(This is the least likely scenario)

TUITION: Earlybird is $209, thru November 30 (based on $5.90 per hour); December 1, tuition increases to $234.

POLICIES: Families are required to read and acknowledge policies, including attendance, financial, behavior and others, when enrolling. By enrolling in this class, you agree to abide by all of our policies. All school policies and expectation for behavior are always in effect, in addition to WCP policies.

ABOUT THE WIZARD OF OZ:  The Wizard of Oz follows the story of Dorothy, a young girl who finds herself somewhere over the rainbow in the magic land of Oz. Though at first magical and enchanting, Dorothy soon realizes that she wants nothing more than to get back to Kansas. Along the way she learns that not all witches are wicked (though some definitely are) and Things are not always what they seem. Dorothy ultimately learns that growing up takes brains, courage, and a lot of heart.
